Skylark’s New Year’s Eve performance Darkness & Light features a program of chamber music paired with poetry. Local superstars including former Vermont Poet Laureate Chard deNiord and composer Evan Premo will be on-hand to interpret international treasures such as Amanda Gorman and Dreamers’ Circus. This concert from the Shelburne-based eclectic string ensemble is sure to engage, enchant, and delight audiences of all ages.

With classical roots and contemporary style, Skylark’s catalog of chamber music showcases original folk arrangements from the Nordic and Celtic regions. Paired with a bespoke collection of poetry, this interdisciplinary program explores the seasonal shift from darkness to light — just as one year ends and another begins.

Vanish Works’ projection designer Alex Reeves, will bring an otherworldly visual element to Skylark’s program, spinning improvised projections onto the walls of the UU during the performance.
