The Many Voices of Water is an interactive experience deeply engaged in the evolving landscape of Vermont and the broader implications of climate change. The show is a collaboration of seven artists in a wide range of disciplines, including photography, dance, music, light, and installation.
By reflecting on water as one of many animate beings we share the planet with, the exhibition prompts us to consider our responsibility to pause, listen, and act in harmony with this most essential life source.
Images are paired with soundscapes accessible through QR codes and headphones, crafted from field recordings and oral reflections. Each image accompanies a jar of water with a stone at the bottom, borrowed from the location where the image was created. The viewer is invited to add their intentions and blessings to the water and stone. At the end of the show, the artist will return the stones and water to their respective homes, bringing the project full circle.
This live performance features 11 black & white prints by large format photographer Andreas John, music and compositions by Evan Premo and Matt Larocca, and dance by Jessie Owens, Hanna Satterlee, and Danielle Tekut. Choreography is by Jessie Owens, and installed set elements are by Hanna Satterlee and Adrian Tans.
Two shows: 12:30 pm and 2:30 pm.
