We’re thrilled to have Young Tradition Vermont back to Highlight for year two! Beginning at 1 pm, the group hosts an Instrument Petting Zoo, a collection of instruments with the express purpose of letting people [especially the kiddo’s] play them. The petting zoo facilitates the discovery of a variety of traditional acoustic instruments, mostly stringed, such as fiddles, ukuleles, guitars, banjos, mandolins, and more. Many of the instruments come with a story that will be shared.
At 2 pm, the Youth Commission Ensemble, one of the thirty programs managed by Young Tradition Vermont, performs a program of original compositions/arrangements from this year’s commissioned artist, Romy Munkres. Romy’s ensemble includes her brother Ben Munkres, Abi Sandy, Hadley Stockwell, and Fern O’Donnell.
