The Youth Opera Company of Vermont can’t wait to show Highlight audiences how relevant and relatable opera can be. Through short scenes featuring works by Mozart, Gluck, Rossini, Humperdinck, and Gilbert & Sullivan, witness these Vermont teen singers moving through the typical moments of a high schooler’s day, from the walk to school, to daydreaming in class, participating in debate club, getting their nails done after school, and helping a friend with love advice. A family-friendly event, Opera 101: A Day in the Life will make lifelong opera fans out of audiences of all ages! This brand-new performance comes from Sarah Cullins, Founder/Executive Director of the Youth Opera Company of Vermont, with music direction and accompaniment by pianist Mary Jane Austin.
