Celebrate the New Year across the globe! From noon to 5 pm, Around the World in the O.N.E. will focus on kid- and family-friendly performances and activities. Every hour on the hour between 12:00 & 5:00 there will be celebration “Highlighting” locations in Asia, Europe, and Africa as midnight strikes in new places around the globe. Following each celebration there will be performances of traditional dance, music, and drumming, as well as local favorites A2VT, who combine their traditional roots with contemporary vibes in their popular Afro-pop show. Free craft activities with the Family Room will take place between 1:00 and 4:00. Delicious international snacks, hot and cold beverages, and desserts will be on sale all afternoon.

1:00-1:15         The New Year has arrived in…Thimphu, Bhutan at 1:00 pm and Kathmandu, Nepal at 1:15.

1:15-1:45         Learn about Jamaica through Games and Music with Judi Emanuel Family Band

2:00-2:15         The New Year has arrived in…Karachi, Pakistan

2:15-2:45         Nepali Heritage Dance Group – watch and participate

3:00-3:15         The New Year has arrived in…Yerevan, Armenia.

3:15-3:45         A2VT – Africa to Vermont! Dance along with Vermont’s favorite Afro-pop group.

4:00-4:15         The New Year has arrived in…Asmara, Eritrea.

4:15-4:45         Polish music, dance and song with Rik and David.

The International Snack Bar menu will include Momos – meat and vegetarian (Nepal); Empanadas – meat and vegetarian (Argentina); Bratwurst with Sauerkraut (Germany); and Injera Plate – meat, vegetable, or combo (Ethiopian/Eritrean). Desserts will include macaroons, baklava, and rice pudding. Beverages will be Mango Lassi, hot chocolate, coffee and tea, juice boxes, soda and water.
